Brief: For my first year Graded Unit I was tasked to create a corporate identity for a “Museum of Colour” in London and in addition to produce a poster, business stationary and promotional postcards. My designs had to appeal to families, students and tourists.
The logo itself was inspired by the colour wheel and London Underground logo. I originally thought I’d stay away from using a colour wheel, but after development realised it worked as a simple logo, towards the target market, and also so it could be effectively used for poster and promotional items. In the two poster designs, the logo is manipulated so that it linked with exhibits that could feature there. The postcards pictures are photo subject matters associated with their appropriate colour tints.
