What a fantastic few months I’ve had with Kilmarnock Amateur Operatic Society (KAOS) working on Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat!
I had so many first new experiences: dancing on stage (still to work on 😂), getting make up, getting mic’d up, being backstage, and of course doing my first ever musical show. It was an honour to be playing as one of the brothers (Asher) and be among so many amazingly talented folk who brought it all together for this week’s 7 shows at Centrestage.
As well as doing the show, I worked with Mhairi Anderson to create the show programme. It’s been another thing that I’ve always wanted to do with my avid interest in muscials, as well as my enjoyment creating publication designs. We worked with photography taken by members of KAOS as well as professional photography taken of the cast, team and rehearsals by Stuart MacKay. It was a fun project to do. The promotional poster and front cover for the programme had already been created by Ryan Meikle, so based background designs and asset concepts from it.
